Who Am I?

Hi, I'm Prashant Rawat. I am a Software Engineer II at Klarna in Berlin, building reliable payment integrations and distributed systems. I work primarily with Java, Spring Boot, AWS, Kafka, SQL, and event-driven systems, focusing on high availability, idempotency, observability, and resilient production operations.

I have done my Integrated B. Tech and M. Tech in Information Technology from ABV-Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management, Gwalior. I have a keen interest in coding and development and have done projects on various technologies from Android and Web Development to Machine Learning and Blockchain. I had been active on many coding platforms: a 5 star coder at CodeChef, Expert at Codeforces, and Guardian at LeetCode, as well as an ICPC Regionalist. I also contribute to open source and have served as a maintainer of PyDataStructs.

Work Experience

Software Engineer II, Klarna July 2023 - Present | Berlin, Germany

Core engineer in Native Bank Integrations, building Java/Spring Boot microservices for outbound bank transfers across Europe and the US. The platform supports 38M+ transactions per month across SEPA, SEPA Instant, Swish, Bankgiro, ACH, and SWIFT.

Led the end-to-end design and implementation of Swish payment flows supporting approximately 4M payments per month, and designed and operated SEPA integrations processing 34M+ transactions per month.

Owned the Bankgiro/Plusgiro payment capability end-to-end, delivering alias invoice payments and e-faktura for Klarna Balance with an estimated $1.9M annual impact. Improved reliability, observability, reconciliation, automation, and SOX compliance across payment flows.

Led automation of SEK credit-transfer handling across Swift Gateway, Banking Payment Engine, and Crosskey, automating approximately 150 monthly RIX-RTGS transfers and eliminating approximately 40 hours of monthly Banking Operations effort.

Built ACH and SWIFT/RIX-RTGS integrations across REST APIs, XML-over-HTTP, and legacy file-based systems, including NACHA file splitting. Drove technical direction through RFCs and architecture reviews, and established a single-script staging-test framework for cross-team integration testing.

Strengthened operational resilience with Datadog monitoring, SQS/DLQ retry handling, long-pending transaction detection, payment reconciliation, incident leadership, root-cause analysis, and SOX audits.

I have experience in LAMP Stack. I made a commercial recharge site for mobile recharges, metro card recharges, and bill payments. The site is hosted at RechargeFreeFast.

Institute Guest Room Booking Site Django App Development

A site where people can book rooms according to availability, make payments online, schedule time, and use asynchronous tasks.

Attendance System Machine Learning

An attendance-marking platform that uses machine learning for face and voice recognition, with text recognition, GPS location verification, Bluetooth proximity checks, and REST APIs for Android use.

It was developed in less than 24 hours during a hackathon.

Waste Detection Site Machine Learning

A site that uses machine learning to detect the type of waste, reducing the effort of manually identifying and separating garbage.

Plaid REST API Full Stack Development

Exposed APIs for user sign-up, login, logout, and webhooks that handle Plaid transaction updates.

Integrated the Plaid REST API with persistent MySQL storage, Celery, and Redis for asynchronous tasks and webhooks.
